1- HOW CAN WIEGHT EFFECT THE RATE OF DESCENT ?

A heavier aircraft has the greater rate of descent . due to a heavy aircraft fly at higher airspeed for a given angle of attack and its rate of descent will be increased .

2- How can weight effect the glide range ?

glide range dose not change with aircraft wieght , provide the aircraft is flying on its optimal angle of attack and a spacific speed for its weight , because the glide range is proportional to the lift – drag ratio  which is not vary with weight . 

note : the heavier aircraft would glide the same distance as a lighter aircraft .
